The top teams in the Antigua Barbuda Basketball Association Division one league picked up victories over the weekend.

On Saturday with matches being played at Ovals, F and G Trading Cuties Ovals Ojays, defending champions, defeated Harold Lovell Rockersville, 83-53 in the feature match.

Ojays were led by captain, Bryan ‘Hollywood’ Matthew with 31 points and 4 steals.

He was assisted by Marlon ‘Buju’ Charles with 17 points, 4 assists and 4 steals and the reigning Playoffs MVP, Kareem ‘Macky’ Edwards who had 13 points, 7 rebounds,4 assists and 4 steals.

Kevin Francis of Rockersville had 12 points and 8 rebounds while teammates, Walton Christian and Answorth Telemaque chipped in with 12 points and 7 rebounds and 9 rebounds respectively.

Yorks Crushers also picked up a win defeating Freetown Travelers, 68-58.

DeCastro Walbrook led the charge with 22 points and 8 rebounds.

He was assisted by Cohen DeSouza and Kebo Orford who contributed with 11 points and 11 rebounds and 11 points.

Travelers’ Morlon ‘Little’ Davis had 27 points and 18 rebounds with Teon Joseph chipping in with 14 points.

Twenty-four hours after, former champions, Flyers Basketball, trumped Ottos Full Throttle, 83-56 at the JSC Sports Complex.

Keroi ‘Dragon’ Lee was the leading scorer for the Orange men with 23 points and 10 rebounds while teammates, Steven Matthew and Kwame Brathwaite assisted with 17 and 11 points respectively.

Kenya Achom also of Flyers had 7 assists and 5 steals.

Shawn ‘Gizmo’ Williams had 13 points and 4 assists for Full Throttle.

He was assisted by Warren Bogle who also had 13 points and 4 steals and Kavari Francis who grabbed 11 rebounds in a losing effort.

LJ Northside Stingerz also found themselves in the winners circle thrashing Hometech Systems Outlaws, 73-59.

Coy Quinland had 26 points and 16 rebounds with Mario Davis assisting with 10 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists.

Mahijah Davis also of Stingerz contributed with 20 rebounds and 4 assists.

Outlaws’ Kevin Roberts had a game high 27 points and 4 steals while Andrew Venture had 10 points in a losing effort.
